F1 racing, Abu Dhabi GP: Verstappen downgrades F1 – 2020

Having the advantage of winning a pole on Saturday, not having a big challenge during the race, Max Verstappen and Red Bull closed the season by winning in Abu Dhabi 2020.

But the big titles of the year belonged to Mercedes, and Of course the remaining two positions on the podium belong to them, with Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton.

Late Sunday afternoon at Yas Marina Circuit, where the final race of the 2020 season takes place, full of volatility due to global pandemic. It was also Magnussen’s final Formula 1 race for his team.

Vettel and Sainz are the last leg of the current race, before moving to a new team. As Perez, the last race for Racing Point, then the future is unknown, or as Grosjean – the injured racer – does not have the good farewell Haas. But with Magnussen and Haas, today’s race is their own mark with the team, the 100th race of the American team in F1.

Compared to the ranking results on Saturday, there were 3 punishments issued. Leclerc was fined 3 places to 12, caused by the collision at Sakhir GP last week. Perez and Magnussen will start at the end of the race, after replacing engine components in excess of the specified number.

The temperature at Yas Marina before the race was 23ºC, the road surface temperature was about 28ºC. During the race, when it got late at night, the temperature dropped even lower. So the ability to maintain a good tire performance will create the opportunity to attack and overtake the opponent.

There are 5 riders that will start on Medium tires: Vertappen, Bottas, Hamilton, Sainz and Leclerc. With soft tires (Soft) also has 5 riders Norris, Albon, Stroll and duo Apha Tauri. The rest of the drivers have the option of tire at the start of the race. Pirelli predicts, if one stop will be 18 rounds of Medium and 37 rounds of hard tires (Hard), or Soft tires 14 rounds, then 41 rounds of Hard. If you choose 2pit-stop, the strategy would be 12 Soft, 31 Hard and 12 Soft to finish 55 laps.
